Overnights in tents under the starlit sky, campfire after a long day, amazing beauty of the hider corners and unusual nature views. You will see all that by your eyes and hear the legend about the unique attractions. One day you will visit the very beautiful Ala-Kol Lake with turquoise color of water, which is not leave you indifferent. At the end of the trekking, you can relax while bathing in the hot springs in the Altyn-Arashan Gorge. It is worth coming to our mountainous land – Land of Kyrgyzstan!

DAY 1: Airport "Manas" - Bishkek (40 km)

Arrival to the international airport “Manas”. Short drive to Bishkek and check-in at your hotel. Afternoon city tour in Bishkek, the capital and industrial centre of Kyrgyzstan, a city of wide avenues, handsome buildings and Soviet heritage. The gesturing statue of Lenin still in the city’s vast central square. We visit Manas Monument, the main national hero of the Kyrgyz people. Then excursion to the State History Museum and walking tour around main Ala Too Square to watch ceremony of changing of the Guard of Honor, Kurmanzhan Datka Monument, main governmental buildings, and finish at the Old Square with Parliament House. In addition, we visit memorial of the second world war with eternal flame.Dinner in a local restaurant. Accommodation in a hotel.

 

Meals: –

Breakfast.Transfer to the southern shore of Yssyk Kul Lake, on the way we will stop at Burana Tower from 11th century heritage. After lunch we will continue the trip to  Fairytale Canyon, an amazing place with red stone formation. Continue the drive to Barskoon Gorge (2200m) where we’ll do a short hike to Barskoon Waterfalls. This day is acclimatization to the altitude. Lunch-picnic on the way. Then transfer to Tamga village. Dinner and overnight in family guesthouse.

After breakfast transfer to the beginning of Telety Pass in Jety-Oguz Valley. Jety-Oguz means Seven Bulls on kyrgyz language and is famous for its unusually bright, red sandstone rock formations, one of the most popular rocks are Seven Bulls and Broken Heart. Start our trek to the feet of Telety pass upon arriving. Lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight in tent camp on altitude 2800m.

Breakfast. Trekking to Karakol gorge. We will go up to Telety pass (3800m) and from the top of the pass, we enjoy the views of the surroundings. Descent is rather simple, along a wide slope covered with talus, across alpine meadows with various herbs and flowers, along East Telety River. This is best place to have a lunch. Then we continue our trek to Karakol Gorge. Dinner and overnight in “Karakol” tent camp at 2500m.

5 hours round trekking

After breakfast, we are starting our climbing to Ala-kol Lake. You will be amazed by this extraordinary lake. Ala-Kol Lake is a rock-dammed and hidden treasure between lofty Terskey Ala Too Mountains. Lunch on the way. Continue trek to Keldike Valley (3400m) for dinner and overnight in tents.

Continue our trekking to our next point is Altyn-Arashan Valley. Extremely picturesque views of Altyn-Arashan attract large number of tourists. Altyn-Arashan resort is famous for hot springs. You will take a bath in the pool with radon water. Lunch, dinner and accommodation in a yurt.

Morning excursion to hot wild springs. At 11am a driver will pick you up by old Russian Jeep or truck (depend on groupsize) and transfer you to Karakol. Check-in to the hotel and lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, explore Karakol city: Museum of Prejevalskiy, Russian Orthodox Church & Dungan Mosque. Dinner in a restaurant. Accommodation is in a hotel.

After breakfast, drive to Cholpon-Ata, the resort center with clubs, bars and restaurants. Afternoon visit Cultural Complex “Ruh Ordo”, Petroglyphs museum on open air dating from 500 BC – 100 AD – image of wolves, long-horned ibex, goats, horses, snow leopard and some hunting scenes. Rest on the beach. Today lunch&dinner in the resort. Overnight is in the resort.

Breakfast. Rest and free time on the beach and afternoon drive to Bishkek. Lunch in Balykchy town. Evening arrive to Bishkek, check-in to hotel, free time. Dinner in local restaurant accompanied by Kyrgyz folklore show. Accommodation in the Hotel.

Preparing for a mountain trekking adventure is crucial to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Here is a comprehensive list of essential items you should bring:

Clothing

  • Layered clothing: Include base layers, mid-layers, and outer layers to adapt to varying weather conditions.
  • Waterproof jacket and pants: To stay dry during rain or wet conditions.
  • Warm hat and gloves: To protect against the cold, especially at higher altitudes.
  • Comfortable boots: Well-fitted and sturdy, preferably waterproof.
  • Additional pair of shoes or sandals for leisure time
  • Extra socks and underwear: Moisture-wicking and quick-drying options are best.

Gear

  • Backpack: A durable and comfortable backpack with a capacity suitable for the length of your trek. Recommended weight maximum 10kg
  • Sleeping bag: Suitable for the expected temperatures.
  • Sleeping bag liner: Adds warmth and ensures cleanliness. We cannot give you 100% guaranty that mattresses at the Yurt Camps or Homestays will be ideally clean and meet your standards. That is why better to put your own inlet to these beds.
  • Headlamp or flashlight: With extra batteries, for visibility at night.
  • Multi-tool or knife: Useful for various tasks.

Food and Water

  • Water bottles, water purification tablets or filter: For refilling from natural sources.
  • High-energy snacks: Such as nuts, dried fruit, and energy bars – if needed

Safety

  • First aid kit: Include bandages, antiseptics, pain relievers, and any personal medications.
  • Personal hygiene items: Biodegradable soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, wet wipes and quick-dry towel
  • Medications: Any personal medications, plus extras in case of delays. We are sometimes in very remote areas, so obtaining these items could be difficult.
  • Sun protection: Sunscreen and lip balm with SPF, hat, sunglasses.
  • Insurance: Travel insurance is not included in the tour package. It is highly recommended that clients have their own travel insurance to cover illness, injury, and loss or damage to personal belongings. In case of an emergency, the staff will do their best to assist and transport you to a hospital or another point of care. However, if you do not have insurance, you will be required to cover the charges yourself. Your insurance should also cover helicopter services and rescue/search operations in the mountains.

Miscellaneous

  • Camera or smartphone: To capture the beautiful scenery.
  • Power bank: To keep your electronic devices charged.
  • Reusable bags: For carrying trash out of remote areas.
