Place: Karakol – Hotel Baytor

Get ready for a truly authentic dinner and interaction with a local Kyrgyz family in Karakol! The 2.5-hour cultural and culinary tour is both fun and delicious! Arriving at the hosts’ house, you will be greeted in the best traditions of Kyrgyz hospitality! Enjoy a home-cooked dinner in a cozy yurt (traditional nomadic home) around the table, where you can discuss Kyrgyz culture and daily life with your host.

Basic Moments
  • Try at least 5 types of homemade dishes crafted in the finest culinary traditions of the Kyrgyz people.
  • Feel the kyrgyz culture by learning how to cook “boorsok”, enjoy the food while sitting in a traditional yurt, listening to songs and legends;
  • While talking with your family hosts, learn the history of the Kyrgyz people, their culture, traditions and customs!

Join us as we explore a culinary adventure to taste authentic Kyrgyz cuisine. We’ll taste at least five homemade dishes, including

  • Kurgak Kesme
  • Byzhy
  • Chuchuk
  • Boorsok 
  • 2 salads at a local eatery.

Additionally, upon request, you can experience the iconic “Besh Barmak” dish, prepared according to Kyrgyz culinary traditions. While learning how to make Boorsok, we’ll also delve into discussions about the fascinating history and traditions of the Kyrgyz people.

Minimum group size: 5 persons

If you or anyone in your party has any dietary restrictions or food allergies, we will try our best to ensure that all meals meet your requirements (within reason). If we see that we cannot meet your specific needs, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Traditionally, most Kyrgyz dishes will contain meat (usually lamb or beef). However, vegetarian options may be available.
