PROGRAM

DAY 1: Aiport Manas - Bishkek

Driving:  30-40 min

 

Upon arrival in Bishkek, you will be greeted at Manas International Airport and transferred to a comfortable 3-star hotel for some rest. Following a brief break, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of the city.

The tour will include visits to iconic landmarks such as Ala-Too Square, a central hub of activity and culture in Bishkek, the vibrant Osh market where you can explore local goods and delicacies, the grand Opera and Ballet Theatre known for its performances, the Fine Art Museum showcasing Kyrgyz artistry, and the impressive World National Library among other notable stops.

For lunch and dinner, you will have the opportunity to savor delicious local cuisine at a traditional restaurant, experiencing the flavors and hospitality of Kyrgyz culture.

 

At the end of the day, you will return to your hotel for a comfortable night’s stay, ready to continue your exploration of Bishkek and its surroundings the following day.

After breakfast, we will begin our journey to Kyzyl Tuu Village, a unique destination known for its traditional house making of nomads. Lunch en route café. By arrival to Kyzyl Tuu village we will see the demonstration of Yurt making and installation.

 

As the day comes to a close, we will enjoy a delightful dinner at a local Guest House, where you can indulge in the flavors of the region. After dinner, we will arrange for your overnight stay in a comfortable guesthouse, providing you with a cozy and authentic accommodation experience.

After enjoying a satisfying breakfast at the Guest House, your day will kick off with a visit to the Eagle Hunting Show, where you’ll witness a thrilling demonstration of nomadic hunting techniques with eagles, a longstanding tradition in Kyrgyz culture.

Following this captivating experience, your journey will continue towards Canyon Skazka, located along the picturesque southern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the stunning red canyons and marvel at the natural beauty of the landscape.

For lunch, a delightful picnic-style meal will be arranged near the shore of Issyk Kul Lake, offering you a chance to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Jety Oguz – Karakol

Touring: 5-6 hours

After a satisfying breakfast, your journey will continue as you depart for Karakol to explore its cultural and historical attractions. Your sightseeing itinerary will include visits to the Church, the Dungan Mosque, and the Prjevalskiy Museum, each offering unique insights into the region’s heritage and architecture.

 

Following your sightseeing tour, you will head towards the picturesque lake where you will meet your kayaking instructor for a thrilling 1.5-hour kayaking adventure on the tranquil waters. This experience will allow you to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings from a different perspective.

Following breakfast, your journey will continue towards the majestic Sary Jaz Mountains. Along the way, you will make a stop at a grocery shop to purchase snacks for lunch, ensuring you have sustenance for your mountain adventure.

 

As you traverse the scenic route, you will pass through the Chon Ashuu Pass at an elevation of 3082 meters, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

 

Upon reaching your destination, you will check in at the Mountain Hut, where you will have the unique opportunity to experience the authentic nomadic lifestyle alongside a local Yak Shepherd. Upon arrival in Bishkek, you will check in to your hotel and have some free time to explore the city at your own pace. Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, offers a blend of Soviet-era architecture, bustling markets, and vibrant cultural attractions for you to discover.

During your free time, you may choose to take an optional excursion in the city for shopping, exploring local markets and boutiques to find unique souvenirs and gifts to remember your trip by.

Clothing

  • Layered clothing: Include base layers, mid-layers, and outer layers to adapt to varying weather conditions.
  • Waterproof jacket and pants: To stay dry during rain or wet conditions.
  • Warm hat and gloves: To protect against the cold, especially at higher altitudes.
  • Comfortable boots: Well-fitted and sturdy, preferably waterproof.
  • Additional pair of shoes or sandals for leisure time
  • Extra socks and underwear: Moisture-wicking and quick-drying options are best.

Gear

  • Backpack: A durable and comfortable backpack with a capacity suitable for the length of your trek. Recommended weight maximum 10kg
  • Sleeping bag liner: Adds warmth and ensures cleanliness. We cannot give you 100% guaranty that mattresses at the Yurt Camps or Homestays will be ideally clean and meet your standards. That is why better to put your own inlet to these beds.
  • Headlamp or flashlight: With extra batteries, for visibility at night.
  • Multi-tool or knife: Useful for various tasks.

Food and Water

  • Water bottles: To reduce waste we’ll recommend you to buy 7-10l Bottles from the stores and refill your bottles.
  • Food: meals which are not included to the program, you’ll have the choice to try local food at markets/bazars on the way, at restaurant or cafes.

 

Safety

  • First aid kit: Include bandages, antiseptics, pain relievers, and any personal medications.
  • Personal hygiene items: Biodegradable soap, toilet paper, wet wipes.
  • Medications: Any personal medications, plus extras in case of delays. We are sometimes in very remote areas, so obtaining these items could be difficult.
  • Sun protection: Sunscreen and lip balm with SPF, hat, sunglasses.
  • Insurance: Travel insurance is not included in the tour package. It is highly recommended that clients have their own travel insurance to cover illness, injury, and loss or damage to personal belongings. In case of an emergency, the staff will do their best to assist and transport you to a hospital or another point of care. However, if you do not have insurance, you will be required to cover the charges yourself. Your insurance should also cover helicopter services and rescue/search operations in the mountains.

  • Money: it’s common to pay by cash.
    Credit cards and Visa cards to withdraw money can be used in Bishkek, Karakol only.
  • In bigger restaurants, cafes or gas station sometimes you can pay by card.
